List of Vendors

Overview

The Vendor List is simply a centralized directory of the companies or individuals you rely on to perform work or supply parts and services.  Think of it as your “who do we call for this?” list, built directly into the system, and is accessible from the Garage Settings menu item.

In practical terms, a vendor list usually stores basic contact and business information for each vendor, such as the company name, phone number, email address, and address. It often also includes what the vendor specializes in, for example HVAC repair, electrical work, plumbing, landscaping, equipment calibration, or parts supply. 

The real value shows up when vendors are tied to maintenance records. When you create a items such as maintenance, repairs, or purchases, you can associate it with a specific vendor. That makes it easy to see who performed the work, how often you’re using a particular vendor, and how much you’re spending with them over time. It also helps with audits, budgeting, and deciding whether a vendor is performing reliably.

On the main screen of the vendor list, you'll find a table which gives the following information for each vendor:

Next to each vendor name, there is an edit button to edit that vendors record.

Usage

From this screen, you can add a vendor, or edit a vendor.  You can also print this list out, in the event you need hardcopies for distribution.
